If you read science fiction often, or used to read science fiction often, you’ve run across this type of author: silly, but not funny – sarcastic but not intelligent. For some reason, too many authors tend to think if the novel is a work of comedy, it doesn’t need to be good or even well thought out. Sadly, this isn't just with novels; but with movies and TV shows as well. The truth is that a comedic writer actually needs to be more inventive and more intelligent than a dramatic author. If you want to know all there is to know about the book, just have a look at the maps lining the inside of the cover. It goes downhill from there.

I am 1/3 finished, and will read the entire book. Good premise, well thought out, good dialogue. BUT. Throughout, instead of might've, would've, could've, we get might of, would of, and could of. A) If this is a mistake born of ignorance, it is atrocious and unforgivable. B) if this was a conscious choice, then OMG, how pointless. Such gimmicks only slow a reader down, and tells us that the author didn't trust the quality of his writing. Horrible. PS - the ending was abrupt and pointless, and, of course, 'ending-less.'

It feels like there's a footnote every paragraph sometimes; this doesn't make for a good Kindle experience.The dialog, language, and grammar are utterly off-putting. There must be a hundred uses of "would of done this" and "could of used that" - it's not in-realm patois; it's just cringeworthy. And, as another reviewer noted, the analogies are at the ten-year-old level.FKA sort of wants to be Idiocracy meets Snow Crash and Fallout (hyperbranding and anarchic post-Internet stuff), but it doesn't succeed. Every page is an overwhelming blast of unnecessary and verbose glitz. The narrative is wholly underwhelming, and the whole experience is a pricey trip to nowhere. I cannot believe it's been opted for a screenplay. Shudder. If I wrote this, I'd use a pen name too.

FKA USA is full of dark humor, ruminations, and revelations. I understand several people not approving the nature of the book. If you are a fan of David Wong or Joe Landsdale this is your type of joint. I will reread this.Loved the Barnaby’s final words. Loved the total confusion of who is chasing whom. Do not know this writer but I will look for him in other books.I hate five star reviews. I would give this a solid 4.6 (I hated the footnotes). I would suggest real vs virtual due to these.

Decent effort, I guess. However, if you are used to good writing, good plot development, plausible futuristic scenarios, don’t waste your time and money. I am forever frustrated by the reviewers who claimed this novel was brilliant or wonderful. Money poorly spent.

Das Hörspiel ist wirklich sehr schön gemacht. ALLE Synchronsprecher sind dabei und haben sehr gute Arbeit geleistet.Die Toneffekte sind sehr gut gelungen.Erzählertexte fehlen, dafür wird alles von den Charakteren selbst gesprochen. Alle die, die Star Wars Filme mochten, werden dieses Hörspiel lieben. Obwohl mir persönlich die Verbindung zu Episode 3 ein bißchen fehlt, z.B. dass sie nicht weiter nach Sideous jagen oder wo sich der Rat der Separisten befindet. Aber ansonsten eine gute Story, die sich gut ins Star Wars Universum einfügt.Fazit: Absolut geniale Umsetzung einer nicht ganz so starken Story und für jeden Fan ein Muß!(Diese Rezension bezieht sich auf Teil 1-3.)
